Welcome back!

We’re back with your monthly update with Tanya and Vanessa where every month we’ll be coming to you with a quick update about some details that are happening at the Academy.

It might seem like you just heard from us not too long ago because well.. you did. We’re just adjusting the scheduling of when these come out so from here on out you’ll hear from us about once a month at the top of the month.

Every month we get to welcome new faces to our studios and we are so excited to share that we have at least another 56 students to join us! We cannot wait to see where their music takes them.

Now let’s celebrate all the March birthdays on our calendar. We have 25 students celebrating another turn around the Sun.

We also have the pleasure of celebrating the birthday of some teachers and staff!

Happy birthday to our teachers Ryan and Hilda and to our Assistant General Manager, Vanessa!

Spring Recital:

As you know, our spring recital is coming up April 19th, 20th and 21st. Registration will be closing March 15th.

There are currently only the following showcases open:

Friday April 19th at 7pm and 8pm

Saturday April 20th at 9am

Sunday April 21st at 9am

It’s going to be a packed house all weekend and we are so excited for all the performers!

Spirit week:

March 17th to 23rd we’re going to be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!

Wear green, cover yourselves in Shamrocks, dress up like a leprechaun … whatever you choose to do, come show your green colours in studio to your lessons or on zoom and you’ll be entered for a fun little lucky prize to win!

Studio closures:

We are closed for lessons Good Friday on March 29th and for Easter Sunday on March 31st.

Lessons do continue to run on the Saturday as well as the Monday during Easter weekend.

Who doesn’t love a pizza party?!

Did you know that we now give away pizza parties?

How do you enter for these?

Every time you refer somebody to us you will get entered into the draw

You will also be entered every time you complete all 5 levels of your 150 day Practice Challenge.

We will draw a winner each month or so for a party draw as well for 10 guests to have a pizza party!

Pop Choir:

Don’t forget! Our Georgetown studio hosts a group Pop Choir class Saturdays. We are taking continuous enrollments – call us to get more details and sign up!

The group’s first performance will be at the Spring Recital with other opportunities to perform after that as well.

This opportunity is available to all students, even if you don’t take vocal lessons right now!

Student of the Month:

Each month we recognize a student who has been showing dedication, excitement and passion in their lessons and nominated for this month’s Georgetown student of the month is:

Teacher of the Month:

This month we have nominated our piano and voice teacher, Nathan. Nathan is encouraging and down to earth with his young beginner students and adult students alike. He’s ready to guide them in a variety of genres and always ready to lead a group or jump on the keys to accompany students in the recital.

Thank you for all you do Nathan and congratulations!

Musical Ladder System® Achievements

The Academy of Music in Georgetown is the only music school in the area offering students the opportunity to earn special wristbands, trophies and certificates passing musical challenges with the Musical Ladder System®. This system helps motivate students to create and achieve musical goals with their instructor.

Proud parents, ambitious students and excited teachers. Everybody wins!
Do other schools offer trophies and certificates? A few, but none of them inspire their students with smiling faces by giving them full colour, really cool “Musical Ladder System®” wristbands they can show off to their friends.
